Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Navagraha ("we", "us", "our") operates the Navagraha application, available on the web at app.navagraha.app and as a mobile app (together, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the App. By using Navagraha, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
Birth details: date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth (including latitude and longitude).
Chat messages: conversations you have with the AI Pandit feature.
Computed data: planetary positions, astrological charts, dasha periods, and other Vedic astrology computations derived from your birth details.
Notification preferences: your chosen alert types and preferred notification time.
Audio: when you use voice input, audio is processed in memory only for speech-to-text conversion and is not stored.

We do not collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or location data beyond the birth place you provide yourself.

3. How We Use Your Information

To compute your Vedic birth chart (Kundli) and provide astrological insights.
To power the AI Pandit, which generates personalized responses based on your chart and questions.
To send scheduled notifications (daily readings, transit alerts, muhurat reminders) according to your preferences.
To create and manage your account and authenticate your access.
To provide text-to-speech and speech-to-text functionality in the AI Pandit chat.

We do not use your data for advertising, for profiling beyond app functionality, or for any purpose unrelated to the services described above.

4. Data Storage & Security

Cloud storage: account information, birth details, chat messages, and computed chart data are stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS), which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.
Local storage: preferences, theme settings, and cached content are stored on your device.
Audio: voice input is processed in memory only and never persisted or transmitted as audio.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
Google Cloud — text-to-speech synthesis for AI Pandit voice features.
AI language model providers — your chat queries and relevant chart context are sent through our secure backend to generate AI Pandit responses. Provider API data is not used to train their models.
Open-Meteo — geocoding for birth place search. Only city names are sent; no personal data is transmitted.
RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription purchases and entitlements; receives a non-identifying user reference and purchase/receipt data.
Sentry — crash and error diagnostics to help us fix bugs; configured not to collect IP addresses or personal identifiers.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

6. Your Rights

Access: view your stored data at any time in the App's Profile screen.
Deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data using "Delete Account" in the Profile screen. This is irreversible.
Rectification: edit your birth details at any time in Profile settings.
Portability: request an export of your data at support@navagraha.app.
Withdraw consent: disable notifications at any time in App or device settings.

If you are in the European Economic Area, we process your data based on your consent, contractual necessity, and legitimate interests, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. If you are a California resident: we do not sell your personal information.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Chat messages are retained for the duration of your account to maintain conversation history. Signing out without deleting your account leaves your data in place for your next sign-in.

8. Children's Privacy

Navagraha is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, and we will delete any such data promptly if we become aware of it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal data, contact support@navagraha.app.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored on servers outside your country of residence, including Supabase (AWS-hosted) and Google Cloud servers in the United States or other countries. We use appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

10. Cookies & Tracking

Navagraha does not use advertising trackers, does not engage in cross-app or cross-site tracking, does not collect advertising identifiers, and does not use behavioural analytics that profile you across other apps or websites. We do use privacy-preserving crash diagnostics (Sentry) solely to detect and fix technical faults; this is configured to exclude your IP address and personal identifiers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the Effective Date above and, for significant changes, display a notice within the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
