About Navagraha
Vedic astrology, computed precisely and explained plainly
What we make
Navagraha ("the nine planets" in Sanskrit) is a Vedic astrology (Jyotish) app with a personal AI Pandit. It computes your Janam Kundli (birth chart) from your date, time and place of birth, then explains it in plain English or Hindi. It runs in any browser at app.navagraha.app, free to start with no download, and Android and iOS apps are on the way.
Why we built it
Most astrology apps either bury people in jargon or hand out generic sun-sign horoscopes. Navagraha aims for the middle ground a good family pandit offers: classical rules, applied carefully to your chart, then explained so you can actually use them. It is built for newcomers and for serious followers of Jyotish alike.
How it works
- Astronomical precision: planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris, the same high-precision data used in astronomy software, computed on your own device.
- Classical method: charts, divisional charts (D1, D9 and the Shodashavarga), Vimshottari dashas, nakshatras, doshas and yogas follow Parashari (BPHS) rules.
- An AI Pandit that knows your chart: ask about career, marriage, health, finances or timing by text or voice, in English or Hindi, and hear the answer read aloud.
- Everyday tools: daily readings from your chart and today's transits, ashtakoot Kundli matching, ranked muhurat windows and a live Panchang.
Our principles
- Privacy by design: no ads, no third-party trackers and no selling of data. Our Privacy Policy lists every service that touches your data and why.
- Honesty: compatibility and timing readings describe frictions as well as strengths. Astrological guidance is offered for reflection and information, not as medical, legal or financial advice.
- Free learning: our Learn guides on the 12 rashis, the 27 nakshatras and core concepts like Kundli matching and Sade Sati are free for everyone.
