Dhanu (Sagittarius) is the 9th rashi of the Vedic zodiac, and its lord (swami) is Jupiter, called Guru in Hindi.

Dhanu, the Archer, is the ninth sign of the Vedic zodiac, covering 240° to 270° of the sidereal wheel. It is a dual (dvisvabhava) Fire sign ruled by Jupiter, the planet of wisdom, teaching and expansion, and it is the natural ninth house of dharma, higher learning and fortune. The Sun enters sidereal Dhanu around 16 December, the date of Dhanu Sankranti, which begins the month of Dhanurmasa, a period traditionally devoted to early-morning worship.
