Private by design: your chart is calculated on your phone or computer, and your birth date and time are never uploaded, stored or tracked. Only the town name you type is looked up, to find it on the map. The button below the result opens the Navagraha app with your details, and only if you tap it.

Vedic astrology reads marriage as a window, not a date. This calculator finds the next few years of your Vimshottari dasha, scores each sub-period by how closely its planets are tied to marriage in your chart (the 7th house and its lord, the 2nd and 11th houses, Venus and Jupiter), and shows the best-supported windows with their dates. It also marks when Jupiter, the planet of blessings, passes over or looks at your 7th house or its lord. These are the periods classical rules favour, not a promise: choices, family and effort decide the rest.

Enter your date, time and place of birth. The chart is calculated in your browser, and the result names up to three windows in plain words, with the strongest one first in the summary.

How the windows are worked out

Your Lagna (rising sign) fixes which planet rules each house. A planet is counted as tied to marriage when it rules or sits in the 7th house, the house of the spouse, or the 2nd (family) or 11th (fulfilled wishes) houses, or when it is Venus or Jupiter, the natural significators of marriage. The 7th house counts most.

The Vimshottari dasha then lays out which planet runs each period of your life. Every antardasha (sub-period) in the next eight years gets a score: its mahadasha lord once and its own lord twice, because the sub-period is the closer trigger. The highest-scoring sub-periods become your windows, and the best pratyantar (sub-sub-period) inside each is shown as the most focused stretch. This is the same rule set the Navagraha app's Pandit Ji uses when you ask it when you will marry, so both give the same windows for the same chart.

Jupiter's transit

Classical texts also look at transits: marriage is often said to come when the dasha supports it and Jupiter, moving through the zodiac about one sign a year, occupies or aspects the 7th house or the sign holding the 7th lord. The calculator lists those Jupiter stretches and marks any window they overlap. Overlap makes a window more convincing in traditional terms; it does not make it certain.

How to read the result

Most supported is the window with the highest score; also supported windows are worth knowing too. If every score is modest, the result says so honestly rather than overselling a period. A window that is running now says so. Nothing here describes a partner, and nothing should be read as a deadline: plenty of people marry outside the periods a chart favours.

Without a birth time the calculator does what the Navagraha app does and draws the chart for sunrise on your birth date. The Lagna, and so the house lordships, may then be wrong, and the dasha dates can shift by months, so treat the windows as broad.

Accuracy and method

Every figure on this page is calculated in your browser with the same shared astrology library that powers the Navagraha app. Planet positions come from the astronomy-engine library (arc-second class accuracy for the Sun and Moon) and are shifted to the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the standard used by the Government of India. In practice this agrees with other Lahiri-based astrology software for signs, nakshatras and padas, apart from the rare case where a planet sits within a few arc-seconds of a boundary.

Rahu and Ketu use the true node, as in the app; many printed almanacs use the mean node, which can differ by up to about 1.7 degrees. Houses are whole-sign. Vimshottari dasha years are 365.25 days long. If you compare with another site and see a small difference, the node type, the ayanamsa or the birth-time rounding is almost always the reason.

Frequently asked questions

Can astrology tell the exact date of my marriage?

No honest astrologer gives an exact date. Classical rules point to windows, periods of months or years in which the chart supports marriage. This calculator shows those windows and how strongly each is supported.

Which dasha brings marriage?

Traditionally the dasha or antardasha of the 7th lord, of a planet in the 7th house, or of Venus or Jupiter, especially when Jupiter's transit also touches the 7th house or its lord.

Why do I need my birth time?

The birth time fixes the Lagna, which decides which planet rules your 7th house. Without it the calculator uses a sunrise chart, as the app does, and the windows are less certain.

Does Mangal dosha delay marriage?

This calculator does not use Mangal dosha. Many traditions consider it manageable or cancelled in a large share of charts; you can check it separately with the Mangal dosha calculator.
