The sky on Diwali night, from your sign
On the evening of Lakshmi Puja the Sun and Moon are together in Libra (the Amavasya), with the Moon in Swati nakshatra. Mercury is in Libra (retrograde), Venus in Virgo (retrograde), Mars in Cancer, Jupiter in Leo, Saturn in Pisces (retrograde), Rahu in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo (sidereal, Lahiri).
On Diwali night the Sun and Moon come together (the Amavasya) in your 10th house (career, status and public standing). The focus is career and reputation. Worship at your workplace or business ledger and plan the year's work with care.
| Planet | Sign | From your Moon sign | Themes | Gochara |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jupiter | Leo | 8th house | sudden change, shared money and research | Mixed / neutral |
| Saturn (retrograde) | Pisces | 3rd house | effort, courage, siblings and short trips | Supportive in classical gochara |
| Venus (retrograde) | Virgo | 9th house | luck, teachers, faith and long journeys | Supportive in classical gochara |
| Mars | Cancer | 7th house | marriage, partners and business tie-ups | Mixed / neutral |
| Mercury (retrograde) | Libra | 10th house | career, status and public standing | Supportive in classical gochara |
Your sign's lord, Saturn, is in your 3rd house (effort, courage, siblings and short trips) on Diwali night. Of the five planets above, 3 sit in houses that classical gochara counts as supportive from your Moon sign. That is a summary of the sky, not a forecast: your own chart and dasha change the picture.
Rahu is in your 2nd house and Ketu in your 8th house, so the nodal axis is currently touching family, savings and speech and sudden change, shared money and research.
Mercury, Venus and Saturn are retrograde on Diwali night. Retrograde planets do not change the puja or its muhurat; some traditional astrologers simply prefer to keep big new commitments (a new business, a large loan) for a calmer period, and to buy what you will actually use.
Your Lakshmi Puja time
The Lakshmi Puja muhurat depends on your city, not your sign: in New Delhi it is 5:55 PM – 7:51 PM on Sunday, 8 November 2026. Find your city on the Lakshmi Puja muhurat page.
Keep in mind
- This is the general transit for everyone with a Capricorn Moon sign. Your own ascendant, dasha and the rest of your chart change how it lands.
- The puja is a matter of devotion and tradition; no planetary position guarantees money, health or any outcome.
